SHAUN OSSINGER
EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Shaun has 15 years of experience in marine natural resource management with Fisheries WA, the Australian Fisheries Management Authority, (international capacity building and fisheries management) and Parks and Wildlife. He joined WICC in 2015 to better balance human impacts on the environment. Shaun lives with his family near Lights Beach.

KYLIE COOK
SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE PROJECT OFFICER
Kylie is a farmer by birth and scientist by training, currently running Angus beef cattle and Poll Dorset sheep on her family’s property in Scotsdale. Kylie is relatively new to Denmark having bought their current property in 2017, and initially became involved with WICC by carrying out a revegetation project on her own farm.

TIM GAMBLIN
BIODIVERSITY PROJECT OFFICER
Tim is a zoologist with diverse experience in environmental projects across WA. He has worked in the private sector, government, and now casually at WICC. After roles in taxidermy, falconry, and zookeeping, he moved to Denmark to raise a family. Tim is often seen photographing marine life at Greens Pool.

CORRINA OSSINGER
COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Corrina is a graphic designer who moved to Denmark in 2012 and works as WICC’s Communications Officer, managing the organisation’s web page, web presence, newsletters, promotional materials, and social media content.

NAT WALLEN
PROJECT OFFICER – WATERWAYS
With over 10 years of teaching experience, Natalie has worked with children of various needs and abilities. After moving to Denmark in 2013, her passion for conservation led her to study and join WICC as a project officer, a role she holds close to her heart.

CATHERINE REID
PROJECT SUPPORT OFFICER
Catherine has experience in working with the community as an environmental educator and an NRM social researcher. She feels deeply privileged to contribute to caring for our special part of the world. Catherine moved to Denmark with her family in 2012, after developing a strong connection with the area during annual childhood visits.
Meet the Board

Stephen Frost
CHAIR
A Western Australian farmer and regenerative agriculture advocate, Stephen is focused on improving soil health, biodiversity, and farm resilience through practices such as cover cropping, soil remineralisation, and integrated livestock systems.

MAY CARTER
SECRETARY
After over 30 years of visiting, May moved to Denmark in early 2023. With a background in research, her interests have included environmental management, nature-based education and community engagement. She enjoys bush and beach walks and has a phone full of WA wildflower photos.

EDDY BUCKOVIC
TREASURER
Eddy, a trained geologist, has experience in both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon exploration in Australia and abroad. His consulting spans traditional oil and gas exploration, gas storage, sales and marketing, as well as the evolving renewables, energy strategy, and market trends sectors.

PAULA DEEGAN
BOARD MEMBER / SCIENTIST
Paula, an agricultural scientist, has spent her career in conservation across WA, Victoria and NSW. After moving to Albany 23 years ago, she managed the regional NRM body and worked with the Gondwana Link program. She now helps First Nations groups develop Healthy Country Plans and joined WICC’s Board in 2022.

DR. MARK McHENRY
BOARD MEMBER / ADJUNCT ASSOC. PROFESSOR
Mark is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Murdoch University with diverse experience in clean energy, water technologies, agricultural productivity and development. He has advised at all government levels and co-directs two specialist food companies. Mark also runs his family sheep farm in Denmark.

BENITA CATTALINI
OKGG CONVENOR/ FARMER / BOARD MEMBER
Benita and her partner Damian moved to Kentdale in 2021 to retire and build their Galloway Stud. Eager to join the community, they helped form the Owingup Kent Growers Group and worked closely with WICC. Benita joined the board to represent their group’s interests and continue collaborating with others.

ROGER SEENEY
BOARD MEMBER / ENGINEER
Engineer Roger Seeney was named Denmark’s Citizen of the Year in 2017 and also received both a 45-year national service medal and a long service medal for his time as a volunteer fire fighter. He also spent nearly a decade as a Shire Councillor.

JILL GRIFFITHS
BOARD MEMBER / BIOLOGIST / AUTHOR
Jill studied biology and journalism and has been writing about the environment and agriculture for over three decades. Her book, What’s for Dinner? is about food, farming, environment and consumer choices. It was shortlisted for the 2024 WA Premier’s Book of the Year Award. Jill lives on small acreage in Denmark with too many chooks and goats.
